Sacrament of Confirmation and First Eucharist Preparation  2007-2008

Thursday, September 27^th    Parent Meeting                      7:45-8:45 p.m.

Monday, October 1^st             Parent Meeting                      6:30-7:30 p.m.            
Parents who are interested in preparing their child(ren) to receive the initiation Sacraments of Confirmation 
and First Eucharist, especially 2^nd grade parents, must attend one of these meetings to receive an overview 
of the preparation  program, and also to participate in discussions on the importance of initiation into the 
church to the mission of Christ.  

Saturday, January 12^th         Confirmation Retreat           9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
(Snow Date:  Sunday, January 13^th 1:00-3:00 p.m.)
This retreat will include workshops on the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. A parent or s
ponsor must attend with the child. Baptismal information and sponsor name are due at this
retreat.  Also, please bring a memento from your child’s baptism to be shared during the 
retreat.

Saturday, March 1^st              Eucharist Retreat                  9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
(Snow Date:  Sunday, March 2^nd 1:00-3:00 p.m.)  
This retreat will include workshops on the Mass and the Sacrament of the Eucharist.  A parent or 
sponsor must attend with the child. You can sign up for a family interview at this retreat.  
Also, please bring a wallet-sized photo of your child.

March-April                          Family interviews                  by appointment
The child(ren)  preparing to receive Confirmation and First Eucharist and their parent(s) will meet
for a 15 minute interview with  Kathy Williamson to assess the receptiveness of the child for the 
Sacraments and answer any questions for the parents. 

Thursday, March 20^th           Holy Thursday Liturgy        7:00 p.m.                    
The children will be invited to participate in the Washing of the Feet ritual during the Holy
Thursday Liturgy.

Saturday, May 3^rd                 Rehearsal Group A               10:00-11:00 a.m.

Saturday, May 10^t         Rehearsal Group B               10:00-11:00 a.m. 
During the rehearsal, the children and their sponsors will go over everything they will 
say and do at the ceremony, including practicing to receive the Eucharist. The sponsor or
parent must attend the rehearsal with the child.

Sunday, May 11^th                  Confirmation and First Eucharist Liturgy Group B   11:30 a.m.
