Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus Council 7074 of St. Bartholomew would like to welcome all men, ages 21 years or older, of our church to join our Council. Our Council is very active in the church and community.  We help the church out by volunteering as Ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, coffee servers and many other areas of church life.  In the past we have organized the St. Patrick’s Day corned beef supper as a fundraiser for St. Bartholomew.  We help the Community out with Holiday Baskets and have joined with the Lions Club in holding joint suppers to support a fund for families in need.  We hold a tootsie roll drive every year that 80% of the proceeds go to help handicap programs in Cape Elizabeth Schools. If you would like to belong to a caring organization, come check out the Knights of Columbus.  We meet on the first Monday of the month, except for July and August, at 7 pm in the church conference room.

Women's Group

Around 1974, a group of women at St. Bartholomew’s Church formed a committee to organize a fair. The purpose was to make enough money to outfit the kitchen of the original Church.  In addition, the women wished to foster and maintain their interdependence upon each other and their Church, and to offer their ministry to fellow parishioners.

After twenty-five years, the annual fair has gone by the way.  There is a mini fair planned for the holiday season, after the Sunday masses. The Women’s Group is available to serve lunch following a funeral Mass, or to help other ministries in any reasonable capacity. Occasionally, the church kitchen gets a scrubbing and re-organizing.

The Women’s Group still meets every Tuesday to support each other spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.  New members are enthusiastically welcomed.  The normal meeting begins at 10 am.  There is knitting, crafting, talking and lunch at noon. Once every month there is a potluck lunch at the Church Hall. The majority of the members are older women. They are a reservoir of experience, patience, and wisdom available to all parishioners.

Small Blessings

Children infants to age 5 gather together from with their parents twice a month to listen to stories, sing songs, create beautiful artistic masterpieces, share a snack, pray, and play. Come join us for some Christian fellowship and parental support. For more information, click here.
