About St. Maximilian Kolbe

  • St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough is one of the fastest growing parishes in southern Maine.
  • We currently have approximately 1,600 registered families, numbering almost 4,900 members.
  • Our median age is 36.
  • We are the first and only Roman Catholic Church in the town of Scarborough, established in 1988.


The church is named after St. Maximilian Kolbe who was a Franciscan Priest and Martyr (1894-1941).
 

MISSION STATEMENT:  United with the Catholic tradition, the Parish of Saint Maximilian  Kolbe is a community of the faithful deeply committed to witnessing the gospel of Jesus Christ in love and action so that the lives of those touched by the Parish may take on the Person of Christ.

BELIEFS:  

  • We believe in the inherent dignity of each individual; In the uniqueness of each person; 
  • In the call of all to share in the Kingdom of God; 
  • In the vision of faith, which shall be rewarded in glory; 
  • In a commitment to Jesus, manifested by love for others.
