WOMEN’S GROUP
Around 1974, a group of women at St. Bartholomew’s Church formed a
committee to
organize a fair. The purpose was to
make enough money to outfit the kitchen of the original
Church. In addition, the women
wished to foster and maintain their interdependence upon
each other and their Church, and to offer their ministry to fellow parishioners.
After twenty-five years, the
annual fair has gone by the way. There
is a mini fair planned for
the holiday season, after the Sunday masses.
The Women’s Group is available to serve lunch
following a funeral Mass, or to help other ministries in any reasonable
capacity. Occasionally,
the church kitchen gets a scrubbing and re-organizing.
The Women’s Group still meets
every Tuesday to support each other spiritually, mentally, and
emotionally. New members are
enthusiastically welcomed. The
normal meeting begins at 11 am.
There is knitting, crafting, talking and lunch at noon.
Once every month there is a potluck lunch
at the Church Hall. The majority of
the members are older ladies. They
are a reservoir of
experience, patience and wisdom available to all parishioners.
